How To: Draw an anime style angel

In this how to video, you will learn how to draw an angel. First, start out with the basic sketch of the drawing. Remember, eyes go in the middle of the head. Drawing the head first will help proportion the rest of the body. Use long strokes with the wrist to draw the hair. Try to make the hands the size of the face and try to make the fingers look like fish sticks. It is easier to draw if you study anatomy books. Next, erase the sketch and start going in with further detail. Exaggerate the wrinkles in the clothes around the curves, depending on the type of clothing. Once the outline of the drawing is complete, use the same technique on the wings that you did on the hair. Lighten the first layer and go over it with a darker layer. Fill in more details of the drawing, such as darker outlines where shading should go. Once this is done, you can move on to coloring. First, start off with a gray color for the hair and clothing. Make sure to layer color and shade into two layers. Make sure to use plenty of shading around confined areas such as wrinkles. Start off with the dark colors so you do not miss spots. Next, go into the skin with a dark flesh tone. Next, fill in the highlights with a lighter shade of this color. Do the same for the clothing. From here, move on to the wings. You can add blues and purples to give the wings a vivid saturation of colors. You can then move on to the background with swirl designs. Next, fill in these areas with light blues. Emphasize the swirls with a darker color. Continue to add swirls with more colors, such as pink and blue. Once this is done, your drawing is complete.
