How To: Draw a caricature of a truck

Draw a caricature of a truck

This video demonstrates how to draw a caricature of a truck. Begin with a rectangular shape that is slightly bigger at the top and has rounded corners. This will be the grill. Create an inside border. Below the grill, draw a front bumper. At the top corner of the grill draw a rectangle that is divided into two halves and shade the top section of each half. This is the windshield. Draw hatch marks in the center section of the grill. Above either side of the bumper add narrow divided rectangles that are the front lights. Extend a curved line from the bumper to act as the wheel well. At the corner of the window add a side mirror. From the window to the wheel well draw a front door panel and its handle. Inside the wheel well, draw two circles, one inside the other and extend the tire inward to give it depth. Add the outline of the base of the other tire. Shade the background area of the well. Add the front side window above the door panel and shade the top. Add accents to the rim of the tire. Add a stair like section behind the wheel well. Above that, add a curved pipe with accents. This pipe extends above the roof of the cab. Add two lights on top of the roof, accents to the bumper, and shading to the tires. Begin to draw the details of the bed of the truck including the double set of back tires. Add accents to the rims and shade the wheel wells and tires. Draw smoke pluming out of the pipe. Next go over all the lines and shaded areas to darken them. Lightly shade some areas to add dimension. To finish your drawing, blend the shaded areas with your finger. Your drawing is now complete.
