How to Draw Mufasa

Aug 7, 2009 07:03 PM

In Disney’s film The Lion King, Mufasa was king and had to take care of the animals that lived in his kingdom, the Pride Lands. When his son Simba was young, Mufasa was murdered by his brother Taka (better known as Scar). When you draw him, there are certain features to exaggerate.

Start with a circle for the head and the line of action

Draw two guidelines (one vertical and one horizontal) to indicate his facial features.

Draw two ovals (one big and one small) for his body.

Connect the two ovals with wavy lines.

Draw his two front legs.

Draw his two back legs.

Draw his mane outline.

Add some detail.

Erase guidelines.

Color! Refer to the picture above

Note that his eyes have orange irides.

Tips

  • Try drawing him differently each time. You can even create your own lion character and draw him in scenes with Mufasa.
  • Take breaks every once in a while.
  • Posting it online is a wonderful way to showcase your work. If you create a new Lion King character, you can also write some stories about him or her.

Warnings

  • Don't take credit for work that's not yours!

Things You'll Need

  • pencil
  • paint, colored pencils, etc.
