HowTo: Draw With a Bicycle

Sep 22, 2010 11:38 PM

Joseph L. Griffiths, an Australian artist who resides in Paris, has created a DIY bicycle-powered drawing machine. I'd like to see a video of the piece in action.

Art installation featuring a stationary bike and colorful abstract artwork on the wall.

Says Griffiths:

"My drawings and mechanical installations seek to transcribe the living relationship between man and machine. The rentless accuracy of the drawings evoke the printed sheen of digital reproduction, simultaneously celebrating and denying the human touch. My interactive drawing-machines propose a return to primitive technologies and encourage a reconnection to the natural and man-made worlds through manual crafts, directly engaging the audience in the creative cycle. My work seeks to reevaluate the human position in the technological equation, and realise the potential for art to permeate everyday life."

The next big software update for iPhone is coming sometime in April and will include a Food section in Apple News+, an easy-to-miss new Ambient Music app, Priority Notifications thanks to Apple Intelligence, and updates to apps like Mail, Photos, Podcasts, and Safari. See what else is coming to your iPhone with the iOS 18.4 update.
